Please review all the Personality Traits and understand their meaning. (I handed out a worksheet with them.) Pay special attention to: reliable, deceptive, thoughtless, moody, bossy, demanding, outgoing, sluggish, outspoken.

And from these lesson's vocabulary: aid, bonfire, bait, crop, dew, harvest, personality traits, sextant, stranded, supplies, trap, wreck.

If you are uncertain about a meaning, check the Answers.com website.

Homework:

1) 1 page essay about the 8 inventions that are the most important for humankind. Explain your reasoning on each. Handwritten.

2) I was very upset with the negative mood of some of you towards my class. If you think you're too cool and old enough to do "childish" activites, LEAVE. At this very moment I've decided to change the type of activities in our class. Your additional homework is to read the case study "Water Privatization Fiascos". Read it to get a background for our activity on Saturday. We 'll have a discussion group instead of the games.

  2. Dear students,

I’m very sorry for the ones that do enjoy the games, but there are always people that are unlikely to do the things plain and simple and find instead exciting a challenge.

Anyhow, I’m convinced that “there are many ways for a batter to reach the first base.” In this sense, I mean that if you find the games boring, I can undertake other measures and force you to do a hard work.

So, I was thinking, why the negative mood? I want to talk with all of you. What are your feelings? What are your thoughts? What do you expect (not from me but the course)? My opinion is that you’ve not understood the goal of this class.

On Saturday we'll carry a poll; this will probably be your last chance. I’m not willing to waste my time dealing with spoilt people that act like a 13-yr old jr. high student.

Don't make me ask you to leave my class.

    Regards
